The following is an overview of the Qt Solutions Archive. The components and tools have been re-licensed under the BSD license and moved to qt.gitorious.org. Users of the components listed here should note that Nokia is no longer actively engaged in further developing these solutions, but limited maintenance and bug fixing will be done when deemed necessary. Qt Solutions will no longer be included in Qt Commercial software purchases.
Current Qt Commercial license holders are entitled to support for Qt Solutions according to terms and conditions stipulated at time of purchase. Support will also be available for Qt LGPL Support holders.
Qt Solutions Technical Guidance
Installation: Each Qt Solutions component and tool contains detailed information on how to install it. Please take a look at the INSTALL.txt file of the respective package for detailed information.
Components are directly compiled into your application. The package contains a .pri file that allows you to integrate the component into programs that use qmake for the build step.
Supported and unsupported platforms
Some components and tools are known not to run on certain platforms. This is usually due to the fact that they are using platform specific functionality.
- Browser Plugin
The QtBrowserPlugin solution is useful for implementing plugins within a web browser.
- JPEG 2000 Image Format
The JPEG 2000 Image Format provides a QImageIOHandler plugin for reading and writing JPEG 2000 files.
- Locked File
The QtLockedFile class extends QFile with advisory locking functions.
- QtScript Classic
This component provides the original (pre-Qt 4.6) implementation of the QtScript module.
The QtService component is useful for developing Windows services and Unix daemons.
- Single Application
The QtSingleApplication component provides support for applications that can be only started once per user.
The Qt SOAP project provides basic web service support with version 1.1 of the SOAP protocol.
